Hello, and welcome to Teen Driver Tracking, a place for parents and teen drivers to learn how to stay safe while driving through the use of GPS Tracking and other ways.
Recently our teenage daughter began driving. Like all parents, her Father and I were extremely concerned about her safety. We both had long careers in the Medical Field, me as a CT Tech and my Husband as a Paramedic. As such, we have firsthand experiences in car accidents involving teen drivers and their outcomes. Did you know that the highest mortality rate for Teenagers in the USA each year is Traffic Accidents? Because of our concerns we knew we obviously needed to at least try to keep her safe, and hopefully aid in keeping other teen drivers safe.
Some of the ideas we have to keep teen drivers safe are:
- Install a GPS tracking and Location Device, logging (passive) or real time in the car which she drives.
- Go over, and over again, the most common mistakes teen drivers make
- Have her sign a contract for Teen Drivers
- Make her keep her cell phone off when driving
- Give her as much experience driving with us and without us as we can
- Talk to her about driving statistics of teen drivers
- Do not let her drive with her friends in the car (not yet, anyway)
- Have a place for other parent’s to comment on their ideas to help us keep teen drivers safe
- Place a teen driver bumper sticker on a teen drivers car so that other drivers can alert parents if they aren’t driving safe
While doing research on how to keep teen drivers safe, we also started thinking about how we could aid in keeping our younger children and grandfather (who has dementia) safe by using:
This site is a work in progress, and will continue to grow.
